The government-sanctioned gunrunning operation, Fast and Furious, was a plot to undermine Second Amendment rights in the United States, National Rifle Association president Wayne LaPierre charged on Friday in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV.

“It’s the only thing that makes any sense,” LaPierre said. “Over a period of two or three years they were running thousands and thousands of guns to the most evil people on earth. At the same time they were yelling ’90 per cent… of the guns the Mexican drug cartels are using come from the United States.’“That was a phony figure from the very start. Even the Wikileaks cables from our own State Department prove they are coming from Central America, they are not coming from the U.S. Every police officer will tell you that they’re coming from Russia, they’re coming from China, most of them are coming from Central America and a lot of them are coming from defections from the Mexican Army.”

But LaPierre said that President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were determined to make it appear that most weapons used by the Mexicans came from north of the border, “so they could stick more gun legislation on honest American gun owners of the United States.”

LaPierre insisted that the whole Fast and Furious scandal, in which he said “thousands and thousands” of weapons were allowed to cross into Mexico, would never have come to light at all if it hadn’t been for last December’s murder of U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry in Arizona.

“We wouldn’t know about this at all if (Terry) had not been killed and some of the good, honest, decent federal agents down the line had enough of the stench coming out of Washington and started to use the Whistleblower Act to go public and call the Justice Department out on this whole rotten, stinking scheme.

GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich says 70% of Republicans want “someone other than Mitt Romney” – but, they don’t know who.

Yesterday, radio talk show host Sean Hannity asked the former House Speaker what he “made of the ups and downs in this (Republican presidential) race.”

Gingrich responded by saying he felt that “most Republicans, probably 70% of them, know that they want someone other than Romney but they don’t have anybody” and that that is why the race has seen so many candidates pull up in the polls and then fall.”

Be careful, if you dare to criticize Citizen Obama, comrade. The Web is watching. This week, President Obama’s re-election team launched “Attack Watch,” an interactive website that allows the president’s registered supporters to report instances of “attacks” against the commander in chief or his record. Citizen snitches are asked to detail who the attacker is, the type of attack, and whether the offending words were actually heard or passed along as second-hand rumors. The “Attack Files” section provides summary responses to some common smears. For example, the site explains that, “President Obama is a friend to Israel, despite unfounded claims to the contrary.” For critics, it represents a handy list of the issues that most infuriate the White House.

But this is story gets better. It appears that there is at least a hint that the Obama administration pushing this through for a couple of reasons.

1. To get a “green jobs” company as the front for his stimulus.

2. And to make a major donor of his happy – George Kaiser. Who if I follow correctly also invested in Solyndra.

BUT IT GETS EVEN BETTER!

I know, how can it? Now Obama and the Dem’s are saying it is George W. Bush’s fault. I know. We expect that don’t we. Well how can it be Bush’s fault?

Well, supposedly the loan originated during the Bush administration. I say supposedly because this article says that is not true…that it originiated under Obama’s stimulus.

The news I saw about this on the morning news says that it DID start under Bush, but that 2 weeks before Bush left office, they voted not to move forward on it.

So it doesn’t really matter where it started (unless your a Dem and want to blame Bush….go ahead). What matters is that there seems to be some email trails that suggest the administration was putting a lot of pressure on different people and offices to get this approved.

And that is where the problem comes in.

Come on! It’s getting old.

Attacking a deepening jobs crisis, President Barack Obama challenged a reluctant Congress Thursday night to urgently pass a larger-than-expected $450 billion plan to “jolt an economy that has stalled.” He urged lawmakers to slash Social Security taxes for tens of millions of Americans and for almost every business to encourage hiring.

“Stop the political circus,” an animated Obama told a joint session of Congress in a nationally televised speech. Over and over he implored lawmakers to “pass this jobs bill.”

Open to discussion but making no promises, Republican House Speaker John Boehner said Obama’s ideas would be considered but the president should give heed to Republicans’ as well. “It’s my hope that we can work together,” he said.

In announcing a plan heavy on the tax cuts that Republicans traditionally love, Obama sought to achieve multiple goals: offer a plan that could actually get through a deeply divided Congress, speed hiring in a nation where 14 million are out of work, shore up public confidence in his leadership and put Republicans on the spot to take action.

The fate of economy will define Obama’s re-election bid, but he sought to dismiss that element as political fodder that means nothing to hurting Americans.

Obama never estimated how many jobs would be created by his plan, which also includes new federal spending for construction, hiring and an extension of jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed. Despite his promise that it would all be paid for, he has not yet released the details on how.

ExxonMobil, the world’s largest energy company, filed a lawsuit against the federal government for canceling an oil-drilling lease in the Gulf of Mexico that held “billions of barrels of oil,” according to the company.

In the suit, filed Aug. 12 in federal court in Louisiana against Interior Department Secretary Ken Salazar and related parties, Exxon alleges that the Interior Department made an “arbitrary, capricious” decision in canceling the deepwater leases, arguing that the government’s action “deprives ExxonMobil of property without due process of law.”

In his weekly address on Saturday, President Barack Obama called for Congress to approve more money for a new—and vaguely defined—program to repair roads, bridges and airports as a means of creating jobs for construction workers.

The program, Obama said, would create jobs for workers who used to build houses by “by giving loans to companies that want to repair our roads and bridges and airports.”

The president did not explain how loaning money to a company that wants to help repair a road, bridge or airport would cause more roads, bridges or airports to be repaired and thus necessitate the hiring of more construction workers to repair them.

He also gave no details of the loan program he envisions—who would qualify for a government loan under it or on what terms the lenders would pay the taxpayers back.

However, he did call the loans one of the “commonsense steps” he is proposing to get the American economy growing again.

“And we ought to give more opportunities to all those construction workers who lost their jobs when the housing boom went bust,” Obama said in his address. “We could put them to work right now, by giving loans to companies that want to repair our roads and bridges and airports, helping to rebuild America.

I know, there are already regulations on a lot of that.

But light bulbs? Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for it. I have some “alternate” kinds of light bulbs in my house now.

But do we need legislation dictating it?

I say no, we don’t.

According to most articles that I have read, even some of the light bulb companies are against repealing this act. That is great. Let them keep producing more energy efficient light bulbs like they are now.

We’ll still buy them.

And of course the articles mostly quote manufactures of LED light bulbs and other “green” forms of light. But some of the big light bulb companies are quoted as well.

I don’t understand why America has become a “must need legislation for XYZ”. XYZ representing everything in our lives now days it seems.

In my opinion the only way you “advertise to kids” is by advertising to kids who aren’t parented. And that is by no means the companies fault for advertising.

I try not to let my kids watch to much TV….in reality they probably watch more than I would like. But when they see a commercial for something they want I say “no”. Or maybe I say yes….point is….I parent. I know how to say NO.

The whole kids meal thing. That one gets my blood boiling. My kids all the time ask to go to McDonalds. Not for the toy…but because they like their chicken nuggets and french fries.

But I tell them “NO”. Sometimes we go….but no that often. I say “NO”.

I didn’t even read but a couple sentences of this article. It just ticks me off.

And of course Obama wants to regulate what a company can and can’t do. Isn’t that what he does best?

House Republicans are siding with food companies resisting the Obama administration’s efforts to pressure them to stop advertising junk food for children.

Some food companies say the government is going too far with guidelines proposed earlier this year by several government agencies. The voluntary guidelines would attempt to shield children from ads for sugary and fatty foods — think colorful characters on cereal boxes — on television, in stores and on the Internet. Companies would be urged to market foods to children ages 2 through 17 only if they contain specific healthy ingredients and are low in fats, sugars and sodium.

Even though the guidelines are voluntary, many companies are aggressively lobbying against them, saying they fear the government will retaliate against them if they don’t go along.
