I really find this all to be pretty weird……

It seemed to me that Obama wasn’t really into his speech today while on vacation in Hawaii. It seemed to me he was more worried about his vacation (or something) other than the events at hand. Those events being that a terrorist successfully got explosives onto a plane and tried to detonate them about 10 minutes before landing in Detroit.

He seemed distracted. It wasn’t one of his great “everything will be alright” or “the world will love us” or “we need this or that in America” speeches. He really seemed distracted. He really seemed like he was being taken away from his vacation and he wasn’t happy having to deal with the terrorist business or worst yet have to talk to the American peon’s while on vacation.

But at least after his speech he was able to go and get some golf in. But that got interupted as a child of Obama’s friends was injured at the house that Obama is staying at.

Now Obama did seem to care very much about this. At one point an ambulance went racing by and soon after that the motorcade was going so fast to get back to the residence that it lost the bus carrying all the reporters.

In some fairness, I believe the child’s parents were golfing with Obama at the time.

But no worries. It is being reported that the child only had minor injuries.

The ambulance later drove off with lights still flashing and Obama returned to the golf course to play.

Where was Obama’s swift course of action (like a speech) when this terrorist tried bombing the plane. This happened on Christmas Day and here we are 3 days later and we finally heard from a disingenuous, distracted almost uncaring President.

Oh he said the right things. “We will not rest” until they are captured and tried. Well sir, I am not counting on you to go get them. It will take months of talking to your Czars, finding out what others think, or what other countries think….after all, we wouldn’t want to upset them. Look how long it took you authorize troops for Afghanistan for a General that you appointed specifically for the reason of completing the job there.

Yes we know it was Al-Qaeda. They have laid claim to the attempted bombing saying that is was in response to a U.S. attack on a group in Yemen.

But, at least Obama is still able to get some golf in while in Hawaii. Hope the speech to us common folk didn’t take away from his vacation to much.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up an Amsterdam-Detroit airline flight Christmas Day demonstrated that “the system worked.”

What in the hell is she talking about. The system did nothing in preventing this possibly tragedy. The brave passengers and flight crew members are what prevented this. The system that supposedly worked let this man on the plane. The system didn’t flag him “appropriately”. The system apparently has ignored this man’s father warning the U.S. embassy about him. The system let this man get on the plane with explosives.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not even going to place any blame anywhere right now. It has to be a a very daunting task to get all the “right” people on the no fly list. Sort through all the intel that comes in and decide who gets what level security scrunity.

And we don’t and can’t really have that much control over what other countries do, except for adding people to a no fly list.

Janet Napolitano also proudly boasts in THIS CNN interview that with in 1 hour to 90 minutes that all flights in the air had been notified of the incident so that they could possibly take extra security measures as well. There were 128 flights over the United States at the time, there is no way this should take 90 minutes. But the system worked??!!??

But to say that a system worked when it almost brought down a plane 10 minutes outside of Detroit is ridiculous.

And what has our fearless leader President Barack Obama had to say about all this. Well, he said……..oh wait, he has been to busy playing golf in Hawaii to even really comment on this ordeal. I seem to remember people being critical of President Bush taking to long to act (which he wasn’t) on 9/11. Yes, I know, a little different. But imagine all the critics coming out of the woodwork if President Bush didn’t say anything about this and was instead playing golf and living it up in Hawaii.

I am not even saying he should end his vacation or playing golf. But why hasn’t he said anything.

Maybe it is because he will actually have to use the word terrorism in a speech. He will have to admit there was an act of terrorism here in the U.S. We all know he and his administration don’t use the dirty “T” word (terrorism).

Oh well, more great acts by the great administration.
